Known PM3 Issues:
The only known PM3
functional issue recorded as of July 7, 2003, is the following:
During a time interval workout, if you stop rowing completely during the
rest, or following work interval, your information will be lost.
Q: Does the PM3 use the same
formulas as the PM2 and the PM2+?
A: Yes, the PM# uses exactly the same math to determine pace and output, and
the internal metal flywheel design itself is unchanged
(save that it is now painted blue and has new magnetics) - so the times are
interchangeable with that of the PM2 and PM2+
Q: Is e-Row compatable with the PM3?
A: Currently, the program e-Row is not compatable with the PM3/Model D, so
you cannot participate in internet racing on a model D.
Q: Can a PM1, PM2, or a PM2+ be
installed on a Model D?
A: No, a PM1, PM2, or PM2+ can NOT be installed on a Model D.
Q: Is A PM3 interchangeable between a
Model C, and Model D?
A: No, the PM3 is configured to either work on a Model D, or it is
configured to be retrofitted to a Model C.
Q: Can a PM3 be installed on a
Model C?
A: Yes, a PM3 can be installed on a Model C. This will be available as a
retrofit in Sept. 2003. The Price is $185.00 plus $6.00 shipping and can be preordered by
calling 1-800-245-5676. There is a 40.00 credit available for the return of a PM2 Monitor
and a $55.00 credit available for the return of a PM2+ Monitor.
Q: How do I turn on the PM3?
A: The PM3 automatically turns on when a stroke is rowed, a button is
pushed, a LogCard is inserted, or your PC is plugged in.
Q: How do I turn the PM3 off?
A: The PM3 will turn off by itself after about 4 minutes of inactivity. Your
flywheel turning is designated as activity. If your flywheel is turning, it may take up to
6 minutes or so to turn off.
Q: The PM2/PM2+ used AA batteries. Why
did you choose D cell batteries?
A: The PM3 is a more complex monitor, and as such, requires more power to
operate.
Q: How long will my D cell
batteries last on my Model D?
A: The D cell batteries have 300 hours of life. The Model D/PM3 power
generation will extend the battery's life far beyond that.
Q: How long will my D cell batteries
last on my Model C once I retrofit to a PM3?
A: Approximately 300-500 hours. There is no power generation feature when
retrofitting the PM3 to a Model C.
Q: Is there any way to get
better battery life from my PM3 on my Model C?
A: Yes, you can purchase an AC adapter, or you can power your PM3 from your
PC's USB port.
Q: How do I transfer my results to a
spreadsheet?
A: Use the CD included with your purchase of the Model D or the PM3
retrofit, the "Concept2 LogCard Transfer Utility"
Q: The row I want to transfer
is in the PM3 "Memory", so how can I transfer it to a spreadsheet?
A: You cannot transfer it directly. You must first transfer it to a LogCard,
and then use the Transfer Utility to transfer it to a PC.
Q: Is there third party software
available for the PM3?
A: RowPro should be available soon. See www.digitalrowing.com and keep in mind, this is
not a Concept2 product.
Q: Is the PM3 compatible with
RowPro from www.digitalrowing.com ?
A: As of 08-01-03, we understand that the folks at DigitalRowing are
actively working on PM3 compatibility. Please check their web site or contact info@digitalrowing.com for more information.
Q: Can I develop software for the PM3?
A: You cannot develop software for the PM3, however, you can develop
software that will "talk" to the PM3 for your computer. A Windows programmers
interface guide will be available in early 2004. Please contact Concept 2 at that time for
more information or watch this website for updates.
Q: Can I internet race with my
PM3?
A: Not at this time. To internet race, you need a PM2+ and a Model.
